Abstract: Inland lake bathymetry for Lakes Karapiro and Arapuni, including scanned original images published by the New Zealand Oceanographic Institute (1986) and line-work captured from these images. Also digitized bathymetry from other New Zealand Oceanographic Institute maps. (LAKES_BATHYMETRY) Also DOC bathymetry from Lakes Areare, Rotomanuka and Ruatuna.
Statement: Raster images from scanned hard-copy maps published by the New Zealand Oceanographic Institute (1986). Vector line-work digitised by Waikato Regional Council. Attributes taken as published on maps 1986. Images for Lake Karapiro and Lake Arapuni in the Waikato Region were loaded into WRC's corporate Oracle Spatial database as at 4th May 2006, and are accessible from corporate Geomedia GIS. The data loaded is complete for lakes Karapiro and Arapuni. Each image has been printed to A3 PDF and stored: Karapiro - WRC Document # 1072225, Arapuni - WRC Document# 1072224. Statement: Source images can be found in the Waikato Regional Council library (classification 912). The original images for Karapiro and Arapuni lakes were scanned by Document Management Company in April 2006. The images were then ‘chopped’ into the sections required for load into the GIS. These sections were saved as greyscale TIF images, and processed by ISRU Many/Raw File Converter to apply overviews and tiling (JPEG compressed, Full Tiling, Overviews (Gaussian Method)). Registration of the images was undertaken using Geomedia Professional. Attributes taken as published on maps 1986.
