Abstract: Estimates of water of groundwater at sites in the Waikato Region
Statement: Both ground water monitoring sites and water age data are provided by scientists from the Water Air and Waste programme in Excel spreadsheet form. These data are loaded to the corporate Oracle database and joined to relevant LOCATED data to create views in GIS; these are displayed in Smart Maps. Water age data added July 2012.
Other Information: Projection and Co-ordinates: New Zealand Transverse Mercator - NZTM Positional Accuracy: Positional accuracy is mostly to scales of 1:50000 but some locations have been ‘fixed’ using techniques of greater accuracy. The LOCATED Application holds metadata about the positional accuracy all sampling locations. Attribute accuracy may be variable due to the supply of information from many sources. Primarily designed for use in WRC GIS and Smart Maps intranet application.

This GIS layer contains a subset of data from the LOCATED_DATASETS layer which comprises information for locations including altitude, dataset name, location description, located key, location id, source id, easting, northing, map reference, location name, source name. Another subset of data shows estimated water age where this has been calculated. Geographic extent of the Waikato Region. Projection and Co-ordinates: New Zealand Transverse Mercator - NZTM Positional accuracy is mostly to scales of 1:50000 but some locations have been ‘fixed’ using techniques of greater accuracy. The LOCATED Application holds metadata about the positional accuracy all sampling locations. This data has Ongoing data collection; layer updated in real time. Monitoring site data added March 2007. Water age data added July 2012. Both ground water monitoring sites and water age data are provided by scientists from the Water Air and Waste programme in Excel spreadsheet form. These data are loaded to the corporate Oracle database and joined to relevant LOCATED data to create views in GIS; these are displayed in Smart Maps. Geographical location map references are accurate to  50 m (1:50000 scale) unless otherwise indicated by the LOCATED Application. Due to the supply of information from many sources attribute accuracy may be variable. Logical Consistency: Not quantified.
