File ID: F5986774-27F2-4868-9D8E-C37B0D2E926E
Hierarchy Level: dataset
Abstract: Boundaries of Plant Pest Management Areas that are under the administration of Waikato Regional Council.
Statement: A PPMA Boundary defines the area of a Pest Plant Management Area (PPMA). The purpose of a PPMA is to delineate individual areas of responsibility for Pest Plant Officers. Boundaries for a PPMA are aligned to the River and Catchment Management Zones. The West Coast RCS Zone has been split in two just south of Raglan Harbour, creating a West Coast (PPMA) with the northern portion of the RCS Zone being added to the Lower Waikato RCS Zone, thus creating the Lower Waikato PPMA.

Hierarchy Level: feature Hierarchy Level Name:Feature of dataset Biosecurity - Plant Pest Management Area - GIS Layer
Abstract: Boundaries of the seven current Plant Pest Management Areas for the Region.
Statement: The PPMA Boundaries have mostly been aligned to the River and Catchment Management Zone Boundaries. With some amalgamation and splits as outlined above. These boundaries being based on river catchments as outlined in the RCS Zone metadata. Period and Frequency of Record: The data set is updated on a regular basis with each review of the pest plant contracts. This is usually every two or three years.
Other Information: Data Quality: The layer has had its geometry validated and connectivity within this dataset validated also. The positional accuracy is based on the RCS catchments created from the REC Catchments layer. The geometry is considered sound. Attribute Accuracy: All attributes have been checked. Some of these may change throughout the course of the operational year. This information is updated as it comes to hand Completeness: This layer is considered complete for the short term but further changes or additions may be made to it in the long term.
