Statement: Freshwater Farm Plan Regulations (2023) apply to the Waikato region from 1 August 2023. Part 9A of the Act sets out obligations for the preparation, certification, and audit of freshwater farm plans. The regulations will be phased in across the Waikato region and each mapped area will have a commencement date. A certified freshwater farm plan will be required 18 months after the commencement date if your property meets the land use threshold to have a freshwater farm plan.
