Abstract: Comprises of core attributes pertaining to the sampling site and fish samples but also join to data such as REC (River Environments Classification) and FENZ (Freshwater Ecosystems of NZ) to provide a wide range of details including climate, land cover, geomorphology, fish population predictions, ecosystem pressures and the like.
Statement: The Environmental Monitoring team compile and maintain data relating to a series of fish sampling sites across the Waikato Region. This data stored Ecobase, has been loaded into Oracle (WRC corporate database) Data are primarily displayable via the WRC intranet Smart Maps application, “Fish” map.

Abstract: Displays the REC stream segment, but this time shows fish species probability data together with extended REC attributes (see metadata documents 935413 and 1773276).
Statement: Attributes are given for both that reach and its upstream catchment including details of climate, flow, lengths and areas, forest cover, slope and elevation, fish barriers and predictions of fish species counts (ex Mike Joy). Fish sampling records are obtained according to the recently developed New Zealand Freshwater Fish Sampling Protocols (Joy et al. 2013). The data has been loaded into Oracle for use in the GIS layers, via FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) script and associated SQL script.
Other Information: These data do not contain their own geometry; rather they join to either REC stream reach (NZTM, linear data) or LOCATED point (NZTM point data). Positional accuracy is firstly dependent on the correct REC or LOCATED value being given to join on then on the spatial accuracy of the joined geometry (see metadata documents 935413 and 1773276).
