The following is a summary of how this data was derived (see EWDOCS# 995827 for detailed description of development process):
The LCDB1 dataset was queried for areas of ‘Planted forest’ land less than 15°. This land was “converted” to ‘Primarily pastoral’ i.e. had it’s attribute changed.
Each REC watershed was intersected with the changed LCDB1 layer to create a layer. The area (in HA) of each resulting polygon was calculated. A new column (SEG_LCDB1_BG etc) was created for each landcover class. Each column (class) was updated with the total area (HA) for each REC watershed.
It is an WRC derived dataset so as such does not have a supplier. |

This dataset covers the Waikato Region watercourse network as expressed in GIS_ALL.REC_WATERSHED and GIS_ALL.REC_WATERCOURSE.
This dataset has no spatial information but when used in conjunction with the GIS_ALL.REC_WATERSHED or GIS_ALL.REC_WATERCOURSE layers it will inherit the positional accuracy of these. Refer to EWDOCS# 935413 for further information on these datasets.
This dataset has been derived from the Land Cover Database (v1) (see EWDOCS# 881315), the Land Resource Inventory (LRI) (see EWDOCS# 881266) and the REC database (see EWDOCS# 935413). The REC_PASTURE_SCENARIO1 dataset is current as at June 2005, but will require updating if any of the input datasets (listed) are updated.

The data is as accurate as the input data allows.
The attribute column REACH_ID can be joined with the REACH_ID column of either GIS_ALL.REC_WATERCOURSE or GIS_ALL.REC_WATERSHED to display the data graphically in Geomedia
The data is stored as a table in Waikato Regional Council’s Oracle database. This data is available through Geomedia and Oracle query tools.
This data has been derived specifically for use in fish modelling projects.
This data is current at time of creation (June 2005). If the base data changes it can be updated in the future if required. |
