Statement: BUS_STOP_HAMILTON_BY_ROUTE contains one bus stop geometry per location by route and trip type for Hamilton routes. Bus route and bus stop coordinates and attribute data is collected and maintained by Radiola Aerospace through their Real Time Passenger Information system (RTPI) which is a cloud based GPS tracking system. This data is supplied to Waikato Regional Council via a GTFS feed as 20+ text files which is updated monthly by Radiola Aerospace. The text files are downloaded from the GTFS feed and run through FME workbench processes to create bus route and bus stop GIS data (one workbench process to create the bus route GIS data and one workbench process to create the bus stop GIS data). The GIS data are output to geodatabases and quality checked before being loaded to the corporate spatial database. This process is carried out on the first Monday of each month or failing that then as soon after the first Monday of each month as possible. Revised 2004-2005 and updated 2006 using GPS. Since 2006 bus routes and bus stops have been periodically updated and corrected through digitising by Waikato Regional Council using CRS_ROAD and aerial photography as guides. Real time bus routes and stops were GPSed in WGS84 and have an accuracy of +/-0.3 metres. The initial route survey was done using DGPS so is accurate to about 0.5m on average. The buses running around are also corrected but only to 1-2m.
