These images are scanned historic aerial photos taken over mainland NZ flown on behalf of the Crown between 1936 and 2005. The images stored by the Waikato Regional Council are specifically for the Waikato region and nearby regions only. The photos were scanned by Opus Consultants using a flat bed scanner specifically designed for scanning photo negatives. The project for this work was cofounded by LINZ and Regional Councils. |

These ortho-rectified images are processed from the scanned historic aerial photos taken over mainland NZ flown on behalf of the Crown between 1936 and 2005. David Napier from Skyvuw Ltd was the contractor for this work. Each survey ortho-rectified includes a detailed metadata document. Refer to this for more information on each survey. The ortho-rectified images are stored under their survey numbers. This project is still ongoing (01/07/2020) and new ortho-rectified images are added as they are supplied to WRC. Note, this is not the complete set of photo surveys for the Waikato Region. Surveys are processed based on their priority status. |

Images are supplied as TIF format.
Pyramids have been created in ArcGIS to speed up drawing time.
These images are available internally at WRC using ArcCatalog and in the corporate photo data layers GIS_PHOTOS>Historic_Photos.
