Abstract:	Location, orientation and content of road safety billboards managed by Waikato Regional Council and/or NZTA.
Statement:	Location and content of billboards in the Waikato region was collected by a third party contractor via GPS (+/- 10m) in WGS84 during their maintenance of the billboards. This data was supplied as PDFs to WRC who collated the data into an Excel spreadsheet and plotted the coordinates using ArcGIS. Spatial location was then adjusted where necessary using WRAPS aerial imagery. Billboard orientation (in degrees) was then determined and applied as an attribute.

Other Information:	Left and right of road placement is worked out by heading in the direction of where the state highway begins towards where it ends. Orientation of the billboards is always facing towards the oncoming traffic (left hand side of driver driving towards the billboard).
