| Statement: |
Temperature measurement taken at depths down geothermal bores. Eight sites were monitored in 1996/97. WRC Located Dataset ID 2340. The Data is used for Environmental modeling.
The Data shows The Waikato region, from Mt. Ruapehu to Pukekohe. Specifically Wairakei, Tauhara and Ohauki.
NZ Map Grid Co-ordinates: delineated by the Waikato region. Specific co-ordinates can be found in EWDOCS# 520125 Sites of Geothermal Bores with Temperature profiles.
Most sites are located from NZMS 260 maps, scale 1:50,000.
Sampling has occurred since 1992. The sampling frequency varies, usually the minimum is annually. Temperature profiles are constructed using a calibrated thermocouple, which is lowered down the bore. Refer to Williams (1997). Completeness of data is not determined. Metadata is not complete, manually measured sites abandoned prior to 1994 are not covered. There is On going monitoring at selected sites.
Data Quality: ISO registration since 1995. Automatic quality management checks are run every two and six month. Station audits have occurred at some site, comparing archived data against original records. Refer to Williams (1997) and :
