| Abstract: |
The river assets have been created through various mechanisms. Originally they were digitised from hard copy A1 drawings. There are some assets within this dataset that have been derived from the New Zealand Map Grid (NZMG) coordinates from a Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinate survey of their position. They cover various parts of the whole region.

| Statement: |
The GIS view is a result of a join with information supplied in Conquest by ASSET_ID. It allows users to access non spatial textual data within the GIS applications.
The dataset consists of point and line data layers which join to Conquest by ASSET_ID. The data has been collected since the schemes began in 1960’s and is being kept up to date as the assets are created.
The dataset is not complete and when the data was transferred from the hard copy maps, not all assets were collected. The asset management group has a project set up to survey all assets so progressively this data will be captured and added to the dataset.
The data can be used to provide hard and softcopy maps of various asset type locations.
Users of the dataset must read this metadata document and only use the data within its accuracy limits and have regard for the purpose for which this data was collected.

The RACS_EMB_IAMS_LINKS layer splits relevant stop bank - into links - from the ASSET.sdeadmin.RACS_EMBANKMENT layer based. The link lengths are based on information entered into the IAMS_FAMILY2 table. In addition, relevant attributes from the RACS_EMBANKMENT_LINKS_NS are introduced. The RACS_EMB_IAMS_LINKS layer is based on ASSET.sdeadmin.GIS_RACS_EMBANKMENT_LINKS which refreshes via Create_GIS_RACS_EMBANKMENT_LINKS.py nightly at 2:00am running on gisfmebatch server. |

The GIS view is a result of a join with information supplied in Conquest by ASSET_ID. It allows users to access non spatial textual data within the GIS applications.
The dataset consists of point and line data layers which join to Conquest by ASSET_ID. The data has been collected since the schemes began in 1960’s and is being kept up to date as the assets are created.
The dataset is not complete and when the data was transferred from the hard copy maps, not all assets were collected. The asset management group has a project set up to survey all assets so progressively this data will be captured and added to the dataset.
The data can be used to provide hard and softcopy maps of various asset type locations.
Users of the dataset must read this metadata document and only use the data within its accuracy limits and have regard for the purpose for which this data was collected.

Pumpstation Outfall catchment boundary extents represent land areas serviced by WRC Pumpstation assets. |

| Statement: |
An Outfall is a sub-catchment/watershed area defined by local drainage and represent the extent of land serviced by one or a set of associated pumpstation assets. Pumpstation assets were grouped to Outfall area in consultation with works supervisors who manually drew each asset's pumped catchment boundary in 2019.
Certain Outfall are associated to more than one pumpstation.
The Outfall boundaries do not necessarily align with a drainage subdivision or flood scheme boundaries.
Outfall boundaries were created to understand the watershed boundary constraining fish movement within the watercourses and the associated downstream barrier (being the pump station) for the pumped catchment.
OUTFALL_NUMBER attribute are either derived from associated NZReach number (see NIWA River Environment Classification (REC) network), or where no suitable reach was identified, is a separate unique identifier.
There were three classes of outfall; pump only (only has a pump), pump/gradient (pump with the gravity outlet), and floodgate.

| Statement: |
The GIS view is a result of a join with information supplied in Conquest by ASSET_ID. It allows users to access non spatial textual data within the GIS applications.
The dataset consists of point and line data layers which join to Conquest by ASSET_ID. The data has been collected since the schemes began in 1960’s and is being kept up to date as the assets are created.
The dataset is not complete and when the data was transferred from the hard copy maps, not all assets were collected. The asset management group has a project set up to survey all assets so progressively this data will be captured and added to the dataset.
The data can be used to provide hard and softcopy maps of various asset type locations.
Users of the dataset must read this metadata document and only use the data within its accuracy limits and have regard for the purpose for which this data was collected.
