RACS Foreshores is a dataset created by the WRC Integrated Catchment Management Asset Management Team. The data is designed to supplement Conquest derived Lake Taupo Foreshore or other Foreshore types. |

This data is a work in progress - only Lake Taupo has been identified, though there are chances that coastal foreshore will be required to be captured in the GIS and Conquest. The data is used for identifying which parts of the zones relate to Conquest defined foreshores for the region. This can include lake and coastal foreshores.
This data was derived from the NIWA/MfE RECv1 Watercourse & Watershed and LINZ Hydro 50k Lake Data. The data quality; positional gccuracy, logical consistency, is determined by the source datasets.
The QA process is undertaken by talking to key local staff members that manage assets within these reaches.
Additional aspatial Information is stored and maintained in Conquest by WRC ICM - Asset Management Team. |

The data is stored in the WRC Corporate Oracle spatial database as a GIS feature. The data can be used freely internally and can be viewed in WRC's SmartMaps web mapping facility. |
