Waikato Regional Aerial Photography Service (WRAPS) 2017 - Colour digital orthophotography over the Waikato Region captured over three flying seasons (summer periods) 2016/2017, 2017/2018, and 2018/2019. |

| Statement: |
Waikato Local Authority Shared Services (LASS) Ltd contracted Aerial Surveys Ltd to supply colour digital orthorectified imagery and other products for the Waikato Region, encompassing all or part of 11 territorial authorities. It also includes parts of Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay and Manawatu-Whanganui.
Imagery was captured for 65% of the Region during the flying season Sept 2016 to April 2017 and a further 23% of the Region was captured during the flying season Sept 2017 to April 2018, the remaining 12% was captured during the flying season Sept 2018 to April 2019.
Data comprises:
•3668 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.
Imagery supplied as 30cm pixel resolution (0.30 m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±0.5 m @ 95% confidence level.
Index tiles for this dataset are available as layer WRAPS17_TILE_EXTENT
Other products include Urban Imagery (ranging from 7.5cm to 12.5cm pixel resolution) over Hamilton City and areas of Matamata-Piako, Otorohanga, South Waikato, Waipa and Waitomo Districts. Please see metadata for the respective TA for details e.g. Aerial Photography - Hamilton City Council (HCC)

- spatial accuracy ±0.5 m @ 95% confidence level in clear open flat areas (2 sigma)
- in Natural colour (RGB (Red, Green, and Blue))
- as georeferenced TIFF and ECW files
- captured with zero cloud cover and a sun angle of >= 35 degrees
- all harbour, coastal and tidal areas were captured during low tide periods, this being defined as the period 2 hours either side of low tide.

Waikato Local Authority Shared Services (LASS) Ltd contracted Aerial Surveys Ltd to supply colour digital orthorectified imagery and other products for the Waikato Region, encompassing all or part of 11 territorial authorities. It also includes parts of Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay and Manawatu-Whanganui.
Imagery was captured for 65% of the Region during the flying season Sept 2016 to April 2017 and a further 23% of the Region was captured during the flying season Sept 2017 to April 2018, the remaining 12% was captured during the flying season Sept 2018 to April 2019.
Other products include Urban Imagery (ranging from 7.5cm to 12.5cm pixel resolution) over Hamilton City and areas of Matamata-Piako, Otorohanga, South Waikato, Waipa and Waitomo Districts. Please see metadata for the respective TA for details e.g. Aerial Photography - Hamilton City Council (HCC) |

DSM created using Intergraph ISAE software. The DSM creation was collected from 0.30 m GSD stereo imagery using photogrammetric techniques, largely automated pixel matching and autocorrelation process that creates mass points of the terrain surface and removes points over buildings.
Further manual editing was undertaken to remove points over water bodies. Additional checking for image distortion was undertaken and issues rectified within the DSM. Bridges are dealt with manually.
A Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) was then created and used for the ortho rectification process. |
